Creating Control Limits (Bulk)

Using this procedure, you will create control limits for a selection of data streams using variable data only, but not within-piece data.

  1. Select Access Menu and then select Analysis | Control Limits.
  2. In the Control Limits landing page, select Bulk Create Control Limits.

  3. To control the data streams based on one or more descriptors, do the following:

    1. To include designated descriptor, select is.
    2. To exclude designated descriptor, select is not.
    3. To select descriptors, select Change for the desired descriptor, and then configure the selection:

  4. In the Time Window data field, type the maximum number of months for data collected up to the second, up until the latest effective date . For example, if the date and time is 12/14/2000 11:10:05 AM and you select Latest 1 Month(s), Enact selects data from 11/14/2000 11:10:06 AM - 12/14/2000 11:10:05 PM.

  5. (Optional) In the Effective From column, select Calendar and select the desired effective date, and then select Time and select the desired effective time.
  6. In the Rule Template drop-down list, select the desired rule template. HintClosedTo locate the desired rule template, begin typing a string within the rule template. For example, to locate Template Name, you can type tem or you can type nam. For more information, please see Creating Rule Templates.

  7. In the Processing Template drop-down list, select the desired processing template. HintClosedTo locate the desired processing template, begin typing a string within the processing template. For example, to locate Template Name, you can type tem or you can type nam. For more information, please see Creating Processing Templates.
  8. Select Calculate. Depending on the selections above, Enact displays the following:

    • (New control limits or existing control limits with older effective date) Number of data streams with new or updated control limits, based on the most recent plot points since the latest effective date (up to 50 plot points).

    • (Existing control limits with newer effective date) Number of data streams with control limits that will not be updated.

  9. Select Preview. Enact displays a table of the data streams with new or updated control limits, highlighting those streams with no calculations.
  10. Select Save.
