Viewing Provider Activity

At any time, you can open a Provider Browser dialog box to monitor items published to the DataStore by the selected provider. To view the Provider Browser dialog box, do the following:

1. In the DMS Browser, click the desired provider, and then in the menu bar, click Configuration | Activity.

   OR

   Double click the desired provider.

   OR

   Click the desired provider, and then using the keyboard, press CTRL+A.

2. Examine the provider activity, ensuring the results are as you expect.
3. Click the Close button.

Invoking Reads

In the DMS Browser, you can invoke a read of all items in a provider, causing the provider to send a Read-Request to the connected hardware. The hardware responds with current item data, which the provider publishes to the DMS DataStore.

1. In the DMS Browser, click the desired provider, and then in the menu bar, click Options | Read.

   OR

   Right click the desired provider, and then click Read.

   OR

   Click the desired provider, and then press CTRL+R.

2. The DMS provider publishes all values for the provider's items to the DataStore.
