Understanding Data Collection
With many different manufacturing operations that take place throughout your organization, you can often have multiple data collection plans used for collecting and monitoring test data from the different manufacturing processes. Within the InfinityQS Data Collection Service, data collection plans represent different "data collectors" running simultaneously. For example, one data collector might collect thermostat values, while another configuration monitors belt speeds and tensions.
- Collect Tag Values. Each DCS Data Collector acquires values from DMS tags described in more detail below.
-
Compile Part, Process, and Lot. DCS compiles the Part, Process, and Lot.
You created all of these in the project's data entry configuration, and you can configure their values as static text (for example, "Blue Part") or as dynamic, changeable values using DMS.
-
Compile Characteristics. DCS compiles the characteristics, which represent subgroup test characteristics.
You created these test characteristics in the project's data entry configuration, and you can configure their values as static text (for example, "OD - Location A") or as dynamic, changeable values using DMS.
- Compile Conditions. DCS compiles the conditions, which determine whether a sample of tag values will be used to build a subgroup.
- Evaluate Conditions. If any of the compiled conditions fail, DCS ignores the tag value sample and the configuration waits for the next retry interval.
-
Compile And Save Subgroup. After successfully saving the subgroup, DCS waits for the next subgroup interval.
