Support for TLS 1.2 in Gauge Agent

Now that InfinityQS has fully adopted the Transport Layer Security standard 1.2, you must prepare your workstations running Enact applications, including Gauge Agent:

• If you are running Gauge Agent on a PC with Windows 10 v 1709 or newer installed, there is no action needed on your part.
• If you are running Gauge Agent on a PC with Windows version older than Windows 10 v 1709, there are a few steps you will need to take depending on which version of Windows you are using. You can check the version of your Windows operating system by clicking on this link.

Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1:

• Install Microsoft .NET Framework Version 4.7.1 or newer on any PC running the Gauge Agent application. You will need to be logged in as the Windows local administrator.
• The framework can be downloaded from this web page.

• Warning: TLS 1.2 is not enabled by default on these operating systems. A Windows local administrator will need to perform this. InfinityQS has created a tool to assist in this process, which you can download here.

  For Windows 7 SP1 or Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 running Enact Gauge Agent needing to update TLS to version 1.2 – Save the zip file locally and unzip the registry file. Run .reg file As Administrator to update TLS to version 1.2.

Windows 8/8.1 or Windows Server 2012:

• Install Microsoft .NET Framework Version 4.7.1 or newer on any PC running the Gauge Agent application. You will need to be logged in as the Windows local administrator.
• The framework can be downloaded from this web page.

Windows 10 Versions older than v 1709:

• Install Microsoft .NET Framework Version 4.7.1 or newer on any PC running the Gauge Agent application. You will need to be logged in as the Windows local administrator.
