Creating Process Models

Using this procedure, you will create the process model.

  1. Select Access Menu and then select Data Collection | Process Models.

  2. In the Process Models landing page, select Create Process Model.

    • To configure the process model image, locate the optional image item, and then do one of the following:

      • To upload an image when no image currently exists, select More, select Upload Image, and then browse to the new image (maximum image size 600 KB; file types JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP).
      • To change an existing image, select More, select Change Image, and then browse to the new image (maximum image size 600 KB).
      • To remove an existing image, select More and then select Remove Image.

      InfinityQS recommends resizing images to an aspect ratio of 4:3 (for example, 160 pixels wide by 120 pixels tall).

  3. To rename the process model, do the following:

    1. In the process model, locate and select the process model name in the upper left hand corner.

    2. Type the desired process model name, and then select anywhere on the process model to commit the change.

  4. Using tags, you can provide additional characteristics to further identify the process model. To add tags to the process model, do the following:

    1. In the toolbar, select Add Tag.

      • Select Tag.

        1. In the Tag Group drop-down list, select the desired tag group. HintClosedTo locate the desired tag group, begin typing a string within the tag group. For example, to locate Group Name, you can type gro or you can type nam.

        2. In the Tag drop-down list, select the desired tag. HintClosedTo locate the desired tag, begin typing a string within the tag. For example, to locate Tag Name, you can type tag or you can type nam.

      • Select Save.

    • Select Tag.

      1. In the Tag Group drop-down list, select the desired tag group. HintClosedTo locate the desired tag group, begin typing a string within the tag group. For example, to locate Group Name, you can type gro or you can type nam.

      2. In the Tag drop-down list, select the desired tag. HintClosedTo locate the desired tag, begin typing a string within the tag. For example, to locate Tag Name, you can type tag or you can type nam.

    • Select Save.

  5. To expand the complexity of your process model, do one or more of the following:

    • Adding Operations

      1. To add a new operation before the selected operation, select More and then select Pre Operation.
      2. To add a new operation after the selected operation, select More and then select Post Operation.

    • Adding Part Families

      1. To add an input part family to the operation, select More and then select Input.
      2. To add an output part family to the operation, select More and then select Output.

    Repeat the above steps as many times as you need additional operations, input part families, or output part families.

  6. In the Process Models page, do the following:

    1. Select each operation (for example, Operation 1), type the name of your operation, and then select anywhere on the process model to commit the change.
    2. Select each input part family name (for example, Input 1), type the name of your input part family, and then select anywhere on the process model to commit the change.
    3. Select each output part family name (for example, Output 1), type the name of your output part family, and then select anywhere on the process model to commit the change.

  7. In each input part family, select More and then select Part Family Details.

    To add parts to the input part family, do the following:

    1. In the Parts section, select Part.

    2. In the Part data field, do one of the following:

      • Select the desired part. HintClosedTo locate the desired part, begin typing a string within the part. For example, to locate Part Name, you can type par or you can type nam.
      • Type the name of the new part.
    3. Select Add, or select Add & Assign Another to continue adding parts.

  8. In each output part family, select More and then select Part Family Details.

    To add parts to the output part family, do the following:

    1. In the Parts section, select Part.

    2. In the Part data field, do one of the following:

      • Select the desired part. HintClosedTo locate the desired part, begin typing a string within the part. For example, to locate Part Name, you can type par or you can type nam.

      • Type the name of the new part.

    3. Select Add, or select Add & Assign Another to continue adding parts.
  9. Select Apply and then select Save.
