Editing Roles
Using this procedure, you will edit the existing role.
If you make changes to roles, users in the roles who are currently logged in must perform a force refresh (SHIFT+F5) or log off and log in again to view those changes.
- Select Access Menu and then select Security | Roles.
-
In the Roles landing page, select Edit.
-
Modify the contents under the following tabs:
-
Role Information Tab
Under the Role Information tab, you manage privileges for individual roles, setting what users assigned to those roles can do. Enact organises the list of privileges by keyword (for example, chart, control limit, part, etc.) or action (for example, assign, create, edit, etc.).
- In the Role Name data field, enter the role name.
- In the Long Name data field, enter the extended name of the role.
- (Optional) In the Level data field, assign a level to the role.
- Accepted level values span 1-99, with 1 being the highest level and 99 being the lowest. User and role permissions will be assigned based on the level value you choose. Users will only be able to create, clone or edit roles with levels equal to or lower than the role they are currently assigned.
- Any role not assigned a level will automatically be considered the highest level.
-
In the Permissions section, select the desired display as follows:
-
Keyword Oriented Alignment. To view and set permissions based on application elements (for example, Chart, Condition, Gauge Setup, etc.), select Keyword. For example, to grant a user permissions to manage language labels, you can select Keyword, select Language Label, and then select Manage.
-
Action Oriented Alignment. To view and set permissions based on available functions (for example, Create, Edit, Remove, etc.), select Action. For example, to grant a user permissions to manage language labels, you can select Action, select Manage, and then select Language Label.

Manage Pin.
What is pinning? When production assignments overlap because the parts or lots have been scheduled for the same time, you can pin an active production assignment from the list of current production assignments. Enact treats the pinned production assignment as the only production assignment for that process. Data collections ignore all other assignments while the pin is active, which means manual data collections will bypass the part. At the same time, lot selection dialog boxes and automated data collections can upload data without requiring a specified part and lot.
Pinning also allows users to assign dashboards to other users, which enables them to have relevant information readily available rather than having to search through all dashboards for the correct one.
