Configuring Operation Details

Using this procedure, you will configure the operation details, associating the part families and features, as well as identifying the process(es) used in this operation.

  1. In the process model, locate the desired operation.

  2. In the operation, select More and then select Operation Details.
  3. To configure the operation details features, do the following:

    1. In the Features section, select Part Family-Feature.

    2. In the Part Family drop-down list, select the desired output part family.
    3. In the Feature data field, do one of the following:

      • Select the desired feature. HintClosedTo locate the desired feature, begin typing a string within the feature. For example, to locate Feature Name, you can type fea or you can type nam.
      • Type the name of the new feature, and in the Type data field, select the desired feature type (Variable, Defect, Defective).

    4. Select Add, or select Add & Assign Another to continue adding features.
  4. To configure the operation details processes, do the following:

    1. In the Processes section, select Process.

    2. In the Process data field, do one of the following:

      • Select the desired process. HintClosedTo locate the desired process, begin typing a string within the process. For example, to locate Process Name, you can type pro or you can type nam.
      • Type the name of the new process, and in the Parent Process data field, select Parent Process, select the parent process, and then select Save.

    3. Select Add, or select Add & Assign Another to continue adding processes.
  5. To configure the operation details attributes, expand the Attributes section and in the Short Name data field, type the type the operation name.
  6. Select Apply and then select Save.
